Companies will pay you for your opinion, I am not going to promote any particular survey site but what I will tell you is that some charge just to access surveys whereas others are completely free. Make sure you only join the free ones. In order for you to make some cash you need to have a routine, filling in surveys can be time consuming. Straight away i bet you thought of Ebay right? Yes Ebay is the biggest online but others are catching up and worth a shot. Ebay is not exactly free you have to pay a pretty hefty insertion fee but if you do your research and know what sells your profit will more than make up for your insertion fee.

Now this can cover a wide scope. You can make money from your website in many ways:

The entire above are free to set up, the only thing you will pay for is your domain and hosting which is a couple of pound a month.
Notice I have not included any money making or get rich quick programs in the above? That's because I don't believe in them. My personal opinion is that the only way to earn money online is to find your niche and excel at it. Whatever you decide to do you will need to work hard, don't be fooled by any get rich quick promises.
